Charge Nurse (RN)
About The Position
Americare Senior Living is seeking a dedicated Charge Nurse (RN) to provide frontline clinical leadership and resident care in its skilled nursing community. The Charge Nurse oversees nursing services during assigned shifts, supervises caregiving teams, and helps ensure residents’ needs are met in accordance with state and federal requirements and Americare standards. The role serves as a clinical resource and supports a safe, respectful environment. The Charge Nurse provides clinical oversight and supervision of nursing care to promote quality outcomes and regulatory compliance. The position guides nursing staff, administers medications and treatments, completes resident assessments, and communicates with residents, families, providers, and leadership. The role may also be known as RN Supervisor, Floor Nurse (RN), Shift Supervisor (RN), or Registered Nurse – Charge Role.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Strong clinical judgment and leadership skills.

Responsibilities
- Oversee nursing services, administration, and clinical supervision during assigned shifts.
- Ensure compliance with nursing care standards, policies, and procedures.
- Supervise and guide nursing staff, including LPNs, CNAs, and CMAs.
- Complete and update resident assessments, care plans, and clinical documentation.
- Communicate changes in residents’ conditions to families, physicians, and nursing leadership.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and facility protocols.
- Conduct routine rounds to ensure residents’ needs are being met.
- Address, document, and report incidents, accidents, and concerns, including suspected abuse or neglect.
- Ensure appropriate supplies, equipment, and medications are available and communicate needs to leadership.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote quality care and resident safety.
