Position Overview The Charge Nurse oversees daily nursing unit operations, supervises clinical staff, coordinates patient care, and ensures compliance with healthcare standards and operational protocols. This role supports interdisciplinary collaboration while maintaining high-quality patient outcomes in a deployed setting.

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted RN license in a U.S. State/Territory/Commonwealth or DC.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
  • Minimum 5 years RN experience, including 6 months within the past year.
  • BSN or MSN from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and EMR systems.
  • Must meet pre-deployment physical requirements.
  • Ability to stand/sit for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident required.
  • Valid U.S. Passport with minimum 18 months before expiration.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain MRPT security clearance.
  • Must relocate to Iraq for assignment duration.
  • English fluency required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior military, DoD, or government contractor healthcare experience.
  • Previous deployment or austere medicine experience.
  • Charge Nurse or clinical leadership background in acute care, ER, or critical care settings.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily nursing unit operations and patient care delivery.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support nursing staff.
  • Coordinate staffing/resources based on patient acuity.
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams on care plans.
  • Monitor patient status and respond to clinical changes.
  • Ensure compliance with nursing standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate EMR documentation and review patient charts.
  • Assist with staffing schedules, reporting, and administrative duties.
  • Complete required compliance training and Joint Commission/client onboarding requirements.
  • Support a collaborative, mission-focused healthcare environment.
