About The Position
This is a full-time, night shift position for a Charge Nurse RN in the Emergency Room at Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, IL. The role involves leading and supporting nursing teams, driving quality, safety, and patient experience, and offering career growth opportunities within a large health system. The hospital is a Magnet designated facility, a Level 1 Trauma center, and recognized as one of the top community hospitals. Requirements
- Current and valid state RN License.
- Current BLS upon hire and maintain current.
- Current ACLS 30 days upon of hire and maintain current.
- PALS within 30 days of hire for units that admit pediatric patients.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- RN-C within 2 years of hire preferred.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily unit operations and step in as acting leader when the Director or Manager is away.
- Develop and implement departmental plans, including performance improvement and regulatory compliance.
- Lead orientation and training for new staff, fostering a positive and skilled team environment.
- Communicate effectively with staff, physicians, and administration.
- Monitor patient care and guide staff in real-time adjustments to ensure quality outcomes.
- Provide direct patient care when needed, within your scope of practice.
