About The Position

Dignity Health East Valley Rehabilitation Hospital - Chandler, operated jointly with Lifepoint Health and Dignity Health, is seeking a Charge Registered Nurse (RN) for their Acute Rehabilitation unit. This role is crucial in leading and supporting nursing staff to deliver high-quality, safe, and compliant patient care. Requirements

  • Current state RN license.
  • Associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school.
  • Minimum of two years in a rehabilitative or acute care setting.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required.
  • Child and Adult Abuse Certification required.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred.
  • CRRN preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Leading and supporting nursing staff in the delivery of high-quality, safe, and compliant patient care.
  • Providing clinical mentorship and oversight of documentation.
  • Coordinating staff assignments based on patient needs.
  • Administering medications safely, accurately, and based on patient age and clinical condition.
  • Minimizing potential for medication errors by following proper medication administration procedures.
  • Assisting the RN with initial assessments and patient reassessments per policy.
  • Identifying and implementing appropriate rehabilitation nursing interventions.
  • Performing timely and accurate Quality Improvement (QI) assessments under RN supervision.
  • Delivering care based on patient response to treatment and updating the interdisciplinary plan accordingly.
  • Assessing and reassessing pain, using appropriate pain management techniques, and educating patients and families.
  • Performing all patient care tasks in a manner that promotes patient safety and reduces medical errors.
  • Developing and implementing individualized teaching plans based on patient and family learning needs.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
