About The Position

The Charge Nurse Neuro Med Surg RN provides clinical expertise and leadership to ensure patients receive high-quality, efficient care in a medical-surgical environment. The role assesses, plans, intervenes in, and evaluates patient care; educates patients and families about medications and treatment instructions; maintains and reviews patient records, including test and examination results; and administers medications according to physician orders. The nurse provides leadership to the nursing team during the designated shift. The position is with HCA Florida Brandon Hospital, a 400-bed acute care hospital in Brandon, Florida.

Requirements

• Florida Registered Nurse license in accordance with state regulations, or appropriate compact licensure; if holding a compact license, an active Florida RN license is required within 60 days of hire.
• Nursing Diploma or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN).
• American Heart Association BLS.
• Critical thinking skills.
• Excellent service skills and good interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and follow verbal instructions.
• PC skills.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience in an acute care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, intervene in, and evaluate the care of medical-surgical patients.

• Maintain and review patient records, including posting test and examination results.
• Administer medications in accordance with physician orders.
