About The Position

Facilitates quality patient care through utilization of resources and maintains systems and procedures which enhance staff ability to deliver quality patient care. Position consists of flexible shifts to include weekends and holidays.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in nursing required
  • Licensed as RN by the NC Board of Nursing or qualifies to function under another Compact State RN license
  • 3 years of related clinical experience preferred
  • Background in leadership role or demonstrates strong leadership skills
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Effective organizational, teaching, and leadership skills
  • Visual and auditory acuity required
  • Ability to articulate clearly and succinctly
  • Much standing, walking, bending, and lifting
  • Position may involve skin, eye, mucous membrane, or parenteral contact with blood or other potentially infectious material
  • Must be able to lift 35 pounds

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred

Responsibilities

  • Completes daily patient assignments
  • Rounds with the physicians
  • Serve as resource to staff nurses, nursing assistants, monitors techs and unit secretaries
  • Assists with procedures, checks orders
  • Responsible for daily QC and equipment checks on unit
  • Evaluates daily patient acuity
  • Focuses on patient flow and expediting patient flow
  • Responsible for the over site of quality of patient care
  • Assists with clinical education of staff members in the absence of Clinical Educator/Preceptor.
  • Interfaces with Care Coordinator and discharge planning
  • Expected to take patient assignment when other staffing options have been exhausted
  • Expedites testing, admission and discharges
  • Implement process as defined by the Hospital Innovation Project (HIP)
  • Other duties as assigned
