About The Position

Under the supervision of a higher-level professional nurse, the Charge Nurse assists in the clinical management of patients using accepted nursing practice. This includes diagnosing and treating human responses to actual and potential health problems through case finding, health counseling, and care that supports or restores life and well-being, as well as carrying out medical regimens prescribed by a physician. The role supervises professional nurses, aides, and clerical support staff, including providing practical training and staff development.

Requirements

• Current license in New York State as a Registered Professional Nurse.
• Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
• At least one year of professional nursing experience.

• Other certifications as required in a specialty area.
