About The Position

The Acute Medical Step-Down unit at Presbyterian Hospital provides care for high acuity patients within a culture that promotes teamwork, professionalism, and mutual respect. This is a leadership position for a skilled RN in Progressive Care. Sign on and relocation bonuses are available for qualified candidates.

Requirements

• Minimum one year of nursing experience required.
• Associate Degree in Nursing minimum from an accredited academic nursing program.
• State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License.
• BLS certification REQUIRED at time of hire.
• ACLS (for specific units as listed).

Nice To Haves

• Specialty Certifications in area of practice preferred (CDS Inpatient Progressive and Critical Care Units: ACLS; Emergency Departments: ACLS, PALS; Pediatrics / PICU: PALS; Newborn Nursery / Mother-Baby Care / NICU: NRP; Family Birthing Center: NRP and Fetal Monitoring; Pre-op / Operating Room / PACU: ACLS, PALS; Oncology Chemotherapy certification).

Responsibilities

• Work under the direction of the Nursing Director.
• Work with the Department RN Manager and RN Assistant Manager as part of the management/leadership team.
• Provide clinical and operational shift supervision of care processes which includes patient flow, exceptional care experiences, quality processes, patient safety, and direction of unit staff in designated service area(s).
• May provide direct patient care.
