About The Position

The Charge Description Master (CDM) Analyst is responsible for the accuracy, maintenance, and compliance of the CDM within a MEDITECH environment. This role ensures compliant revenue capture and pricing by ensuring charges are built, routed, and maintained in alignment with CMS, Federal, and State regulatory requirements and within established HSA governance standards. The analyst serves as a CDM subject matter expert, collaborating with clinical, financial, compliance, contracting, and IT stakeholders to support Revenue Integrity and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, Finance, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3-5+ years of hospital Chargemaster experience, preferably in a MEDITECH environment.
  • Proficient understanding of complex, multi-market hospital structure with multiple service lines.
  • Ability to interpret Medicare and NCCI guidelines, National and Local Coverage Determinations to support CDM integrity.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and ability to multitask and maintain a work pace appropriate to workload.
  • Effective written communication skills.
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.

  • CRCR - Certified Revenue Cycle Representative
  • CPC, CCS, or other coding certification
  • MEDITECH training or certification

Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, & audit CDM records within Meditech, including procedures, supplies, implants, pharmaceuticals, & ancillary services.
  • Research & maintain charge attributes such as revenue codes, CPT/HCPCS, modifiers, units, charge methods, and effective dates in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Perform departmental CDM reviews to ensure all billable services are identified, annually at minimum.
  • Ensure consistency between CDM build, clinical workflows, & downstream billing processes.
  • Manage CDM change requests using established governance & approval processes.
  • Assists with charge ticket & charge workflow updates.
  • Builds, updates, & validates CDM pricing in accordance with approved pricing methodologies and organizational policies.
  • Support annual & interim pricing updates, including system‑wide and department‑specific pricing changes.
  • Performs pricing validation & CDM pricing audits to identify & correct inconsistencies.
  • Maintains supporting documentation for pricing changes, including rationale & approval evidence, to support audit readiness.
  • Develop & analyze CDM and pricing reports utilizing Meditech reporting tools & Excel.
  • Conducts pricing impact analytics related to CDM changes, new supplies, implants, & procedures to identify revenue risk or under‑/over‑charging.
  • Identify trends, risks, & opportunities related to CDM & pricing integrity.
  • Present findings & recommendations to VP Revenue Integrity.
  • Ensure CDM compliance with CMS, OIG, Medicare billing rules, & payer guidelines.
  • Collaborate with HIM, Compliance, & Coding to ensure accurate code mapping & regulatory adherence.
  • Maintain documentation supporting complaint CDM build & charging practices.
  • Serve as Meditech CDM subject matter expert for clinical departments & operational leaders.
  • Collaborate with departments to support new charge build, charge corrections, & workflow optimization.
  • Collaborates with Revenue Integrity, Finance, Supply Chain, and clinical departments to ensure CDM accuracy & charge capture integrity.
  • Support CMS Price Transparency, No Surprises Act requirements, & other duties as assigned.
