About The Position

GHD is seeking an Intermediate Dam Project Manager (with a specialization in Structural, Hydrotechnical, or Geotechnical) for its Quebec team, possessing strong applied expertise in dams. Experience in hydroelectric facilities is highly valued. The position can be located in one of our offices in the greater Montreal area or Quebec City. Working with a dynamic and high-performing team in this role, you will perform a variety of tasks and assume the following responsibilities: Analyses, Simulations and Design: Perform analyses related to dam requirements (i.e., hydraulic, stability, etc.) for the design of hydraulic structures and dams; Participate in dam design reviews; Perform simulations and technical analyses; Knowledge Transfer and Continuous Training: Collaborate and supervise junior engineers in design (hydraulic/structural or geotechnical); and participate in the training and mentoring of junior staff; Information and Reports: Conduct site visits and write inspection reports; Participate in the preparation of plans and specifications for the rehabilitation and construction of hydraulic infrastructures; Collaboration: Demonstrate inclusion and openness in relationships with colleagues and business partners; Work in a multidisciplinary and collaborative environment; Promote the Team: Showcase dam-related disciplines to internal and external clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or any other relevant discipline, a graduate degree is an asset
  • Member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec
  • 3 to 8 years of relevant experience in the field
  • Mastery of French, both oral and written
  • Familiar with the issues and regulations of hydraulic structures
  • Good knowledge of applicable calculation methods
  • Good knowledge of modeling on applicable software is an asset
  • Experience in project coordination (for the intermediate engineer)
  • Autonomy, sense of initiative and ability to work in a team
  • Excellent skills in working in multidisciplinary teams
  • Short-term mobility for regional travel (occasional inspections and site visits)
