About The Position

Canards Illimités Canada (CIC) is seeking a Property Management Project Officer to contribute to the planning, coordination, and monitoring of habitat management and restoration actions across Quebec. The successful candidate will work with the team responsible for lands acquired, restored, and managed by CIC, in collaboration with municipal, governmental, community, and technical partners.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in conservation, natural environment restoration, or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in ecology, biology, water science, water engineering, plant engineering, or a relevant field; a Master's degree is an asset.
  • Good knowledge of environmental regulations.
  • Ability to use ArcGIS.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license and availability for travel throughout Quebec.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in property management and wetland and aquatic habitat restoration projects.
  • Plan and coordinate property monitoring: site visits, characterizations, follow-ups, liaising with partners and landowners, budgets, timelines, and reports.
  • Participate in the management of activities on CIC properties, such as hunting, agriculture, encroachment, etc.
  • Prepare funding applications, environmental permit applications, calls for tenders, and technical and financial reports.
  • Coordinate calls for tenders and professional service contracts with engineering consulting firms, specialists, and contractors.
  • Contribute to the quality control of restoration projects and management interventions on properties.
  • Support communication activities related to sites, including the preparation and installation of signage and other enhancement activities.
