About The Position

The Chapter Services Consultant role involves supporting volunteer chapter leaders by reviewing chapter communications, identifying areas where support is needed, and proactively addressing potential challenges. This role requires scanning trends across a portfolio of chapters, preparing outreach for upcoming milestones, and engaging with leaders to answer questions, provide coaching, clarify processes, and ensure they have the necessary resources. A significant part of the role focuses on helping chapters operate effectively by supporting induction processes, guiding governance practices, sharing resources, and assisting with administrative and operational requirements. The consultant will also identify patterns in chapter challenges to improve communication, strengthen resources, and simplify processes, bringing these insights back to the team to enhance overall chapter support. Relationship building is key, involving collaboration with internal colleagues and other departments to align efforts and stay connected to chapter needs. The role requires balancing proactive planning with responsive problem-solving, maintaining organization, thoughtfulness, and calmness while managing multiple priorities.

Requirements

  • At least three years of professional experience in customer service, member services, chapter relations, volunteer management, program coordination, operations, or a related field.
  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant area or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience supporting chapters, affiliates, volunteer leaders, boards, committees, or similar governance structures.
  • Familiarity with chapter operations, governance practices, and member engagement strategies.
  • Experience supporting membership, engagement, onboarding, induction, or volunteer programs.
  • Familiarity with administrative and operational coordination at a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret policies and procedures and explain them clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Highly organized and energized by helping people succeed.
  • Ability to balance proactive planning with responsive service.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Ability to stay calm and focused when priorities compete.
  • Curious and resourceful by nature.
  • Ability to learn systems quickly.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Comfort working in CRM platforms, association management systems (AMS), or similar technology environments.
  • Comfortable operating independently while knowing when to collaborate or escalate.
  • Genuine belief that strong communities are built through relationships, support, and thoughtful execution.

  • Experience in associations, nonprofits, higher education, or volunteer-driven environments is a meaningful plus.
