About The Position

BBYO is the leading pluralistic Jewish teen movement, dedicated to involving more Jewish teens in meaningful Jewish experiences. Through the Aleph Zadik Aleph (AZA) and B’nai B’rith Girls (BBG), BBYO provides exceptional leadership and identity-building experiences. This role supports teens in smaller Jewish communities across the Evergreen Region (Oregon, Washington, and Idaho) by partnering with teens and chapter advisors to elevate programming, strengthen engagement, and create year-round impact. The Chapter Specialist will thrive in a dynamic environment, helping to shape a positive experience for teens, the community, and the wider world.

Requirements

Must be at least 3 years removed from high school.
Role has in-person responsibilities.
Candidates must live in or near Ashland, Bend, Boise, Corvallis, Eugene, Olympia, Spokane, Sun Valley, or Tacoma (and be able to support all the above communities at a virtual capacity).
Active participation in local chapter programs is required.
Chapters program on average 2-4x a month.
Ability to transport self to and from chapter or regional events.
Ability to work 10-15 hours a week.
A creative and responsible self-starter who is comfortable with both taking initiative and working in collaboration with teens.
Detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. without holding a visa or sponsorship.
Must be available for: Fall Term Chapter Board Training: August 23, Seattle | August 30, Portland (Attendance requirement is dependent on location), Fall Kickoff: September 19 (Time and location determined by city), Fall Ruach Convention: November 13-15, Global Shabbat: December 11 or 12, Spring Term Chapter Elections: December 13-15 (Varies by city/Chapter), Spring Term Chapter Board Training: January 10, Seattle | January 17, Portland (Attendance requirement is dependent on location), J-Serve: April 18 (Time and location determined by city), Spring L’dor V’dor Convention: May 14-16.

Nice To Haves

A background in BBYO or similar youth/Jewish organization is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Work directly with teens (grades 8-12) to create impactful, fun, and dynamic programming.
Coach teens on recruitment and retention strategies that build and grow their chapters to exceed membership and engagement goals.
Support teens in building and executing chapter calendars, ensuring a consistent and sustainable programming cadence.
Be present at chapter events and meetings, providing guidance, supervision, and mentorship as the adult in the room.
Ensure chapter participation in region-wide initiatives (e.g. Kickoffs, RLTI, and convention).
Ensure chapter participation in organization-wide initiatives (e.g., BBYO Summer Programs, ILN, and IC).
Track and analyze chapter data, including attendance, engagement, and membership trends, to inform strategy.
Build relationships and maintain communication with members, parents, and community partners.
Participate as a member of the regional team to bring innovative ideas and best practices to the community.
Participate in monthly professional development with fellow Chapter Specialists.
Other duties as assigned.
