About The Position

La Posada is seeking a campus Chaplain who is interested in providing spiritual care, counseling, and guidance to its residents. The Chaplain will coordinate and communicate with the campus care team, including the social worker, to create a supportive environment where residents can find peace, comfort, and well-being. This is a per diem, contract position serving seniors eight hours a week.

Requirements

• Previous experience as an Ordained Chaplain with appropriate qualifications and certification.
• Must have current TB test or attain one prior to starting to work.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
• Possess the ability to make independent decisions and to remain calm during emergency situations.
• Be able to maintain confidences and abide by HIPAA laws.
• Must have practical working knowledge of personal computers and applicable computer software.
• Ability to concentrate on moderate details with frequent interruptions.
• Ability to understand and relate specific ideas and concepts.
• Ability to complete and maintain mandatory memory care training requirements.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in providing spiritual care in a senior living or healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide spiritual care to residents, offering support, prayer, and encouragement as needed to those of all faiths.
• Upon request, able to lead memorial services for residents.
• Offer individual counseling to residents, addressing spiritual, emotional, or end-of-life concerns.
• Collaborate with the campus care team to ensure holistic care, incorporating spiritual needs into individual care plans.
• Be available to provide comfort during times of illness, grief, or loss.
• Facilitate group discussions and activities to promote spiritual well-being and connection among residents.
• Assist with staff support by providing spiritual guidance and opportunities for reflection or group prayer.
• Maintain confidentiality and respect for residents' diverse beliefs and backgrounds.
