About The Position

La Posada is dedicated to providing compassionate care and support to nearly 750 residents living at our Green Valley campus. We are currently seeking a campus Chaplain who is interested in providing spiritual care, counseling, and guidance to our residents eight hours a week. The Chaplain will coordinate and communicate with our campus care team, including our social worker, helping to create a supportive, nurturing environment where residents can find peace, comfort, and well-being. If you are a Chaplain who would be interested in contracting to serve our campus seniors eight hours a week, we would love to hear from you.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as an Ordained Chaplain with appropriate qualifications and certification.
  • Must have current TB test or attain one prior to starting to work.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
  • Possess the ability to make independent decisions and to remain calm during emergency situations.
  • Be able to maintain confidences and abide by HIPAA laws.
  • Must have practical working knowledge of personal computers and applicable computer software.
  • Ability to concentrate on moderate details with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to understand and relate specific ideas and concepts.
  • Ability to complete and maintain mandatory memory care training requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in providing spiritual care in a senior living or healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide spiritual care to residents, offering support, prayer, and encouragement as needed to those of all faiths.
  • Upon request, able to lead memorial services for residents.
  • Offer individual counseling to residents, addressing spiritual, emotional, or end-of-life concerns.
  • Collaborate with the campus care team to ensure holistic care, incorporating spiritual needs into individual care plans.
  • Be available to provide comfort during times of illness, grief, or loss.
  • Facilitate group discussions and activities to promote spiritual well-being and connection among residents.
  • Assist with staff support by providing spiritual guidance and opportunities for reflection or group prayer.
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect for residents' diverse beliefs and backgrounds.
