About The Position

Chaplains serve as frontline staff carrying out MCHAP’s mission and Christian ministry by using their gifts and talents to support company employees and their immediate families. This part-time position serves the Pilgrim’s plant in Natchitoches, Louisiana. Assigned hours are generally consistent from week to week, but there are no guaranteed minimum hours; hours and positional needs vary according to chaplain availability and client requirements. The chaplain makes regular visits to company worksites, typically weekly, to build trusting relationships with employees, and visits employees or immediate family members at locations where care and support can be provided. Ministry may include confidential pastoral discussions, referrals to specialized assistance, support around funerals and bereavement, visits to employees in jail, responding to death or serious-injury notifications, post-termination care, and providing appropriate literature and resources. The chaplain may also facilitate spiritual enrichment activities, represent companies in ministry-related situations, and participate in new employee orientation. Other duties may be performed with the Executive Director of Operations’ permission and within the scope of the agreement between MCHAP and the company. This is a remote, field-based position. The work environment depends on client worksites and may include manufacturing facilities, hospitals, office buildings, and funeral homes, with varying temperature, noise, and light exposure. Candidates must pass a pre-employment background check.
