About The Position

Provides pastoral care to residents and their families through regular visitation and in times of need. Prepares crisis intervention and responds promptly to all referrals from administration and support services. Prepares order of worship and advises residents of place, time and frequencies. Assists residents in end of life services to meet their needs, carry out their wishes, preserve their dignity, etc. through empathy, understanding and cooperation.

Requirements

  • Master of Divinity degree or equivalent and be endorsed by religious body to ministries of pastoral care beyond the local congregation preferred.
  • Ordination in a mainline Protestant body (UMC, UCC, Presbyterian U.S.A., ELCA, Episcopal Church, American Baptist) preferred.
  • One unit of ACPE-accredited clinical pastoral education and three years experience in hospital or eldercare chaplaincy preferred.
