About The Position

Chaplains are frontline staff who fulfill MCHAP’s mission and Christian ministry by using their gifts and talents to serve company employees and their immediate families. Assigned hours are generally consistent from week to week, but there are no guaranteed minimum hours; needs vary based on chaplain availability and client requirements. The chaplain makes regular visits to company worksites, typically weekly, to build relationships of trust and friendship, and visits employees and immediate family members wherever care and assistance can be offered. Ministry may include confidential pastoral discussions, referrals and coordination of specialized assistance, support around funerals and bereavement, jail visits, and support for people affected by serious injuries, deaths, or other tragedies. The chaplain may also provide post-termination care, facilitate employee-led spiritual enrichment activities, provide relevant literature and resources, represent companies in appropriate ministry-related situations, and participate in new employee orientation. The position requires Christian spiritual maturity and commitment to MCHAP’s ministry values, while serving people across different lifestyles, cultures, beliefs, and values. The role is remote and field-based, with the work environment dependent on client worksites.
