About The Position

Member of the treatment team who provides for the spiritual needs of residents, families, and staff. The Chaplain assists patients/residents to understand more fully life’s events as they relate to their spiritual and emotional well-being.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• Completion of curriculum of theological classes and displays skills and competencies in pastoral care.

Nice To Haves

• Master's Degree preferred.
• Previous pastoral experience preferred.
• Certification by an appropriate clinical pastoral agency.
• CPR and de-escalation / restraint certification (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
• First aid may be based on state or facility.

Responsibilities

• Foster an atmosphere of respect and dignity for spiritual needs.
• Offer religious and spiritual guidance to patients.
• Offer prayer or reflection.
• May participate in committees and patient conferences to enhance the continuity of care.
• Develop positive working relationship with members of the treatment team.
• Provide consultation and appropriate resources to the interdisciplinary and group therapists regarding the spiritual needs and requests of the patient as they relate to treatment.
• Keep documentation.
• Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards customers always.
• When patient needs are acknowledged and work to resolve complaints.
• Recognize that patient safety is a top priority.
