About The Position

Deliver compassionate spiritual counseling by supporting patients, families, and staff through emotional and spiritual distress while honoring diverse cultural beliefs and spiritual backgrounds. Lead sacred services and rituals by administering sacraments, blessings, and liturgies tailored to the spiritual needs of the local hospital and community. Champion holistic patient care by collaborating directly with interdisciplinary clinical teams to integrate spiritual well-being into overall patient treatment plans. Foster meaningful connections through proactive visitations and active listening to build trusting, supportive relationships across the care community. Mentor future chaplaincy leaders by guiding and educating Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) students and fellows in clinical pastoral practice.

Requirements

  • Board Certification from the APC, NACC, CASC, or NAJC (or certification obtained within 2 years of hire, risking termination if not obtained within timeframe) is required.
  • Master s Degree in Divinity, Theology, or a related field from an accredited school is required.
  • 3 units of CPE accredited by the ACPE is required only if not board-certified.

Nice To Haves

  • 4 units of accredited CPE are preferred.
  • 3-5 years of healthcare experience as a chaplain is preferred.
