About The Position

Journey Hospice has a rewarding and fulfilling position for a per diem (as needed) Chaplain to serve our clients in Franklin County, PA. Responsible for the provision of non-denominational spiritual care services to patients, families, significant others and/or caregivers. The services are provided either directly or through coordination of care with other spiritual counselors that may include community clergy.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of theology required.
• Valid Driver's license and reliable transportation that is insured in accordance with NJ requirements.
• Must maintain a professional attitude and demeanor.
• Able to communicate effectively and relate courteously and cooperatively with patients, caregivers, colleagues, supervisors and co-workers and all others.
• Must be able to demonstrate optimism, enthusiasm and willingness to work constructively with other healthcare team members and reflect concern for the well-being of patients and employees.
• Interacts with all staff in a positive and motivational fashion supporting the mission and vision of the organization.
• Training/Experience dealing with grief and bereavement counseling.
• Minimum one year experience in providing ecumenical approach in pastoral care and client/family counseling.
• Must demonstrate the ability to be able to work within a multidisciplinary team.

Nice To Haves

• Clinical pastoral education training: with a minimum of 2 to 4 CPE credits obtained from an accredited program preferred.
• Experience in home health or hospice preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provision of non-denominational spiritual care services to patients, families, significant others and/or caregivers.
• Directly provide spiritual care services or coordinate care with other spiritual counselors, including community clergy.
