About The Position

The Chaplain is frontline staff fulfilling MCHAP’s Christian ministry by using personal gifts and talents to serve company employees and their immediate families. The role is part time in Bozeman, Montana, and typically involves around 5–10 hours per week. Assigned hours are generally consistent from week to week, but there are no guaranteed minimum hours; positional needs vary according to Chaplain availability and client requirements. The Chaplain makes regular visits to company worksites, usually weekly, to build relationships of trust and friendship with employees. The role also provides pastoral care and support to employees and their immediate families at locations such as hospitals, nursing homes, funeral homes, and family residences. Care may include confidential pastoral discussions, referrals to specialized assistance, support during illness, bereavement, family or financial stress, and other personal concerns. The Chaplain may assist with funerals and grief support, visit employees or family members in jail, support families and coworkers affected by deaths or serious injuries, and provide post-termination care. The Chaplain may facilitate—but does not lead—spiritual enrichment activities, provide appropriate literature and resources, represent companies in ministry-related situations, and participate in new employee orientation to explain the Employee Care Service and Chaplain Team. With permission from the Executive Director of Operations, the Chaplain may also perform other requested duties within the scope of the agreement between MCHAP Chaplains and the company. This is a remote, field-based position. The work environment depends on client worksites and may include manufacturing facilities, hospitals, office buildings, and funeral homes, with varying temperatures, noise, and light exposure.
