About The Position

Under the supervision of the Director of Spiritual Care Services, the Chaplain provides spiritual care for patients, families, volunteers, and staff in the hospital. They also provide leadership for in-patient and community education and treatment programs, mentoring for clinical pastoral education trainees, and leadership for programs to support area clergy and faith communities to foster a relationship with the religious community.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in religion, theology or other related field required.
  • 2 units of Clinical Pastoral Education or equivalent.
  • Pastoral care, pastoral counseling, parish leadership, clinical education experience.
  • Ordination and/or letter of endorsement by faith required.
  • Applicants must live within a 30-mile radius of Meritus Medical Center.

Nice To Haves

  • Master of Divinity or equivalent.
  • 4 units of Clinical Pastoral Education or equivalent.
  • Clinical chaplain board certification with the Association of Professional Chaplains, College of Pastoral Supervision and Psychotherapy, National Association of Catholic Chaplains, or other professional chaplaincy organization.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.
