About The Position

Valley Senior Living is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Chaplain to provide spiritual care and emotional support to residents, families, and staff. The Chaplain collaborates with administration, recreation, nursing, and social services to help ensure the spiritual needs of the community are met with respect, empathy, and understanding. The position requires the ability to work independently and a commitment to the organization’s mission, vision, values, person-centered care, and holistic well-being. The Chaplain is an integral member of the interdisciplinary team and helps nurture spiritual well-being in a community grounded in care, dignity, and respect. The role is full-time, exempt, and 40 hours per week. The starting wage is $33.63 to $41.62 per hour. Locations include Valley Senior Living on Columbia; Valley Senior Living on 42nd, including Woodside Village, Wheatland Terrace, and Town Square; and Valley Senior Living on Cherry, including Tufte Manor.

Requirements

Baccalaureate degree.
Master’s degree in Divinity or equivalent theological education.
Ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

Serve on the interdisciplinary team, conduct spiritual assessments, and develop individualized spiritual care plans for residents.
Provide spiritual and emotional support to residents, families, and staff, including bereavement care.
Conduct worship services and other spiritual activities that reflect the diverse needs of the community.
Foster relationships with local faith communities, pastors, and churches.
Support philanthropic and community engagement efforts that strengthen the chaplaincy program.
Demonstrate empathy, respect, and sensitivity when supporting residents, families, and staff.
Maintain strict confidentiality and professional boundaries.
Communicate clearly and compassionately, verbally and in writing.
Build and maintain a positive atmosphere of trust, warmth, and optimism.
