About The Position
St. Joseph Hospice in Lafayette, LA is seeking a Full-Time Chaplain to join their patient care team. This role offers a unique benefit of an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), making employees true owners of the company and providing a retirement benefit at no cost.
Requirements
- Graduate of accredited seminary or school of theology or appropriate certification in pastoral ministry.
- Ability to be open, flexible, and ecumenical.
- Make patient visits at their place of residence.
- Comfortable in working with patients and families with life-threatening illness and death.
Responsibilities
- Participate in IDT meetings and assist in evaluating and assessing patients' and/or families' spiritual needs.
- Maintain proper records of visits as determined by the guidelines and regulations of hospice services.
- Arrange for on-call availability of Chaplain services.
- Work with staff, clergy, and community groups to enhance their sensitivity to the spiritual concerns of patients and families.
