About The Position
The Chaplain Hourly provides chaplaincy service to patients, families and staff of the VCU Medical Center. The role involves responding to requests for chaplaincy services/spiritual care and consulting with department staff chaplains in complex patient care situations. The ability to triage requests and multi-task is essential. The position requires the individual to be scheduled to work based on departmental needs, including the day of requests. The Chaplain serves all age-specific groups.
Requirements
- One (1) full-time year post-Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) chaplaincy experience, which may include second year residency.
- One Unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) through the Association of Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE).
- The most recent unit of CPE must have been completed in the last 7 years.
Nice To Haves
- Experience as a Chaplain in an academic medical center and Level 1 Trauma Center.
- Two to three units of CPE through ACPE.
- Training at a level-1 trauma center and/or pediatric hospital.
