About The Position

The Change Management Program Manager is the sole subject matter expert in people-centric change management tools and processes across Alaska Airlines. As an individual contributor, this role defines the long-term strategy for change management and employee enablement, while exercising considerable latitude and initiative to directly lead others in change work and drive results in alignment with business objectives with particular emphasis on high-impact technology and AI transformations.

Requirements

• 7 total years of experience in change management, project management, organizational development, Lean/Six Sigma process improvement, or related experience, including 4 years leading change as a Change Manager and at least 1 year leading complex cross-divisional or enterprise-wide change.
• Bachelor’s degree with a focus in business administration, organizational development, or a related discipline, or an additional two years of training/experience in lieu of this degree.
• Proven change management skills and the ability to apply research and best practices to existing business problems.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum age of 18.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a leadership role managing programs or portfolios that directly affect multiple organizations, departments, and/or the entire company.
• Experience developing change management capability throughout an organization.
• Experience leading change management for technology or digital transformations, ideally including AI, automation, or advanced analytics implementations.
• Familiarity with AI adoption practices, such as role-based enablement, responsible AI use, prompt and playbook development, and AI adoption measurement.
• Certification in change management, project management, or process improvement.
• Experience in project management or process improvement.
• Demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships with senior leaders to effectively influence and collaborate to meet organizational needs.

Responsibilities

• Develops and executes Alaska Airlines change and enablement approach, adapting the company’s foundational change disciplines.
• Leads large-scale change work, including completing complex assessments, documenting change plans, facilitating workshops and decision-making, creating change materials, and establishing and monitoring readiness and adoption metrics.
• Manages a portfolio of change management work, which may include aligning change workstreams, allocating tasks and resources, ensuring stakeholder satisfaction, and being accountable for achieving business objectives.
• Leads cross-divisional teams to develop and implement change strategies that deliver significant and successful changes to the business.
• Partners with the director to define the long-term strategy for change management and employee enablement, with emphasis on changes that have high impact on business performance.
• Builds and maintains strong relationships across the company to ensure alignment and success of the most impactful and highest-priority change work.
• Influences across the company and several levels up to promote a continuous improvement and AI-forward culture, including building change and AI-adoption capabilities.
• Maintains expertise in change management and employee enablement techniques and leading practices — including emerging practices for AI adoption and responsible AI — and works with management to facilitate strategic direction.
• Develops and maintains Alaska Airlines change management methodology, tool sets, courses, and AI-specific enablement assets, including prompt libraries, playbooks, and coaching guides, and establishes and monitors tiered AI adoption metrics to recommend reinforcement and hypercare activities for sustained utilization and value.
• Partners with the director to prioritize requests, load level work, and manage Statement of Work (SOW) outcomes and deliverables for contractors and temporary staff in alignment with priorities.
• Provides change management expertise to project managers, contractors, and less-experienced resources.
• Builds and leads change champion and advocate networks and the Change Management community of practice to share best practices, drive peer-to-peer influence, and surface workflow improvements and adoption barriers from the front line.
