About The Position

CommIT Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a Change and Release Manager to provide technical support for the Change, Release, and Deployment Management functions in support of the Client. This role is responsible for ensuring that all changes to the enterprise network are properly managed, assessed for risk, and deployed in a controlled manner to minimize service disruption and maintain operational stability. Established in 2001, CommIT is a Certified Veteran-Owned Small Business (CVOSB) providing innovative technical engineering and data science services. Our enterprise systems support includes the Department of Defense’s (DoD) GCSS-MC, CAC2S, TBMCS-MC, and the Department of Veteran’s Affairs’ (VA) telehealth communications. We offer acquisition management, systems engineering, Agile software development, cloud management, IT modernization, data analytics, cybersecurity, and training, including leading-edge DevSecOps, automated testing, and mobile application development.

Requirements

  • IAM Level II (CAP, CASP+CE, CISM, CISSP (or Associate), GSLC, CCISO, or HCISPP)
  • ITLv4 Foundations
  • Experience in IT Service Management (ITSM), specifically in change, release, and deployment management processes within a DoD environment.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL v4 framework, particularly in Change and Release Management.
  • Proficiency with ITSM suites, specifically BMC Remedy.
  • Experience in conducting risk and impact assessments for IT changes.
  • Excellent coordination and communication skills for interfacing with multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with creating and managing a forward schedule of change.
  • Active DoD Secret

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working within an Enterprise Network environment.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint for documentation and scheduling.

Responsibilities

  • Review submitted Requests for Change (RFC) to ensure they are valid, complete, and accurate.
  • Perform comprehensive risk and impact assessments on all submitted RFCs.
  • Ensure all approved RFCs are prioritized correctly based on Government direction and organizational needs.
  • Monitor each RFC throughout its entire lifecycle from submission to post-implementation review.
  • Assist in developing release manifests and project plans within BMC Remedy to support enterprise-level projects.
  • Ensure the forward schedule of change is kept up-to-date and accurate in both BMC Remedy and Microsoft SharePoint.
  • Participate in regional and enterprise change activities, including Change Approval Board (CAB) meetings.
  • Serve as an organizational liaison for all approved RFCs, coordinating with Client and external agencies.
  • Ensure all organizational and external agency personnel adhere to Change Management and Release and Deployment Management processes and procedures.
  • Provide technical support for the drafting of Operational Advisories for release.
  • Raise and escalate change-related issues to the required level of management as needed.
