About The Position

The Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) and Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Inc. (HMFP) are seeking applications and nominations for the position of Chair of the Department of Radiation Oncology. This role is part of a significant collaboration with the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) to create an integrated cancer program. The Chair will lead the development of an integrated radiation oncology program across BIDMC and DFCI, focusing on clinical care, research, education, and innovation. The successful candidate will also serve as the inaugural President of the future Joint Center for Radiation Oncology Physicians, providing strategic and operational leadership for this collaborative organization. This is an exceptional opportunity for an academic leader to shape the vision and strategic direction of Radiation Oncology within this transformative collaboration.

Requirements

• Proven record of significant leadership skills.
• Notable academic accomplishment.
• Exemplary administrative, operational, financial, academic mentoring, and communication acumen.
• Board Certified in Radiation Oncology.
• Eligible for an academic appointment as Professor or Associate Professor of Radiation Oncology at Harvard Medical School, commensurate with experience, training, accomplishments, and contributions to education and teaching.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of an integrated radiation oncology program across BIDMC and DFCI.
• Advance excellence in clinical care, translational and clinical research, education, and innovation.
• Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Joint Center for Radiation Oncology Physicians.
• Nurture and enhance the research, teaching, and clinical portfolios of the Radiation Oncology enterprise.
• Engage with institutional, departmental, and divisional leaders, the Harvard community, and regional, national, and international communities.
