About The Position

The Community Family Resource Center Outreach and Engagement Specialist (OES) will support community engagement strategies, cultivate and empower family leadership, provide support to build and strengthen relationships between families and the community they reside in, and work to remove barriers and build bridges to foster success of the community. The Outreach and Engagement Specialist is responsible for helping cultivate and maintain relationships with partner agencies/community-based organizations by being involved in the community and to create relationships that enhance the services provided by the CFRC. The Outreach and Engagement Specialist will facilitate workgroups to engage and empower clients to be critical thinkers. The Outreach and Engagement Specialist needs to be comfortable with public speaking and outreach. This position requires marketing and engagement in various settings and situations. The Outreach and Engagement Specialist needs to be comfortable with potentially sharing their own experience in receiving services through either the Department of Children and Family Services, the Department of Mental Health, the Department of Probation, or other community services, as appropriate, and to educate, advocate, and inspire hope. The Outreach and Engagement Specialist follows all Penny Lane Centers policies and procedures regarding the Heart Centered Culture, cultural sensitivity, and cultural awareness. The Administrative Coordinator supports the agency mission and vision in their interaction with children, youth, families, and partner agencies.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years’ experience in the provision of services to low income and ethnically diverse clients (years of experience can be substituted by years of lived expertise as a recipient of services, requiring a letter of interest outlining lived experience)
  • Must reside in the supervisory district (SD) they are serving or be willing to relocate
  • Bilingual Spanish required (verbal and written skillset)
  • Valid California driver’s license
  • Current automobile insurance
  • Have and maintain a clean driving record acceptable to the organization’s insurance company
  • Have immediate access to his or her vehicle during work hours
