CFD / Aero Engineer

Whisper Aero•Nashville, TN

About The Position

Whisper Aero is seeking a diligent, creative, and hardworking Aerodynamics Engineer familiar with commercial CFD codes to support the design and analysis of advanced electric propulsion systems and their integration with advanced airframes. The role focuses on CFD analysis of components and propulsors, as well as aeropropulsive trades related to airframe integration. Work includes steady-state analysis for design optimization and transient analysis supporting acoustics, aeroelasticity, and identification and mitigation of system instabilities. The engineer will drive aerodynamic, aero-structural, and aeroacoustic design decisions and collaborate regularly with the Flight Sciences Lead, Flight Sciences team, Chief Engineer, and Technical Project Leads. The role involves identifying future propulsor and airframe integration needs, supporting airplane designs and customer requirements, providing pre-test predictions and code validation, and developing approaches, concepts, and design modifications. Whisper Aero develops cleaner, quieter, and more efficient propulsion and air-moving products. The company is based in Tennessee and describes its work as applying first-principles physics to reduce noise and improve the efficiency of moving air.
