Relocation assistance is available for nurses new to Legacy Health. Their expertise is valued by the healthcare team, and they are considered the face of wellness at Legacy. This opportunity is for a Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse. The Certified Wound Ostomy nurse (CWON) manages patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings who have ostomy, wound, and/or complex skin management needs. Referrals originate from providers, nurses, and other health team members. The CWON assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care related to their wound, ostomy, and complex skin requirements. They provide expert consultation to team members, coordinate services, and offer education to patients, families, and the health team. Services span both inpatient and outpatient settings. The Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse possesses competence in the knowledge and skills for the following treatments and care: * Evaluation and treatment of chronic/acute wounds using evidence-based modalities such as negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT), post-operative surgical wound management, conservative sharp debridement, and ultrasonic mist therapy. * Evaluation and treatment of draining and infected wounds and fistulas. * Pre-Ostomy counseling and site marking. * Post-Ostomy teaching and appliance selection. * Evaluation and treatment of peri-stomal skin problems. * Application of compression wraps for venous stasis and non-healing lower leg wounds. * Patient and family teaching.
