About The Position

SCC Inspection is a growing inspection group on the cutting edge of technology. As a division of Sletten Construction, SCC offers benefits unmatched in the industry. SCC is currently seeking a full-time Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) with AWS D1.5 shop fabrication experience to perform quality assurance inspections. This position primarily involves working at a fabrication facility in the Great Falls, MT area. The position may include some travel to project required galvanizing facilities.

Requirements

American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
3 years minimum project experience with structural steel fabrication
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Good Driving Record (driver license will be verified)
Ability to pass pre-hire drug screening/testing

Nice To Haves

Previous structural fabrication inspection (QC or QA) experience.
NDT Level I or II certification: UT, MT, PT and VT.
Familiarity and experience with AWS D1.5 and AWS D1.1.
Familiarity with inspecting and reporting high strength FCM welds.
Familiarity with steel bridge fabrication.
NDT certification strongly preferred

Responsibilities

Perform third party DOT structural steel fabrication quality assurance inspection and reporting
Utilize applicable ASTM and AASHTO construction specifications
Read and interpret shop drawings, specifications, and all other project documents to verify compliance.
Ability to work closely with other fabrication, construction, and quality personnel in a courteous and professional manner.
Ability to use the following: Laptop computer, reporting programs, inspection tools, and other required technology.
Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Word, internet, report writing, file (photograph and other) attachments.
Ability to develop and maintain client relations.
