About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Certified Welding Instructor / Welding Engineering Technician who is a Certified Weld Inspector to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for ensuring the integrity, quality, and compliance of welded components and assemblies, which are used in data center cooling systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of welding processes, industry codes, and inspection techniques, with a commitment to precision, safety, and continuous improvement and certification. Requirements

  • AWS Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) certification required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in welding and welding inspection within a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX, and other relevant codes.
  • Experience with stainless steel and high-performance alloys commonly used in cooling system fabrication.
  • Proficient in blueprint reading, GD&T, and weld symbol interpretation.
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical, and documentation skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital inspection/reporting tools.
  • Able to perform the physical demands of the job including: Ability to safely navigate a manufacturing environment, Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, push, pull, and twist, Ability to use office, phone and computer equipment.
  • Working in manufacturing or fabrication shop environments with appropriate PPE.
  • Time management and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with pressure vessel, piping, or HVAC component manufacturing preferred.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems a plus.
  • Experience with orbital welding brands (e.g., AMI, Arc Machines Inc., Orbitalum, Swagelok)
  • Familiarity with stainless steel processing and high-purity welding applications
  • PLC troubleshooting experience (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.)
  • Certification in welding or maintenance-related disciplines

Responsibilities

  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections of welded joints to ensure compliance with AWS, ASME, and company standards.
  • Verify weld procedures, welder qualifications, and welding consumables are in accordance with project requirements.
  • Complete Training, and retraining across welding levels and roles.
  • Quality and Certification review.
  • Conduct non-destructive testing (NDT) methods as applicable (VT, PT, MT, etc.), and coordinate with third-party NDT services when required.
  • Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and weld maps to ensure product conformance.
  • Document and report inspection results, non-conformances, and corrective actions using the company’s quality management system.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve welding-related issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in weld audits, root cause analysis, and quality training programs.
  • Maintain inspection equipment calibration and ensure traceability of inspection records.
  • Uphold and promote the company’s commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
  • Other duties as assigned.
