About The Position

River Valley Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) to join their team. This role will support both outpatient care and procedural services, including surgery and dentistry. The ideal candidate is a versatile, client-focused technician who thrives in a dynamic general practice environment, balancing exam room care, client communication, and hands-on procedural support. The hospital values credentialed technicians for their clinical knowledge, judgment, and communication skills, aiming to elevate the quality of medicine, client experience, and patient care. Experienced Veterinary Assistants with demonstrated moderate-level clinical skills are also welcome to apply. Technicians at River Valley are assigned to dedicated doctor teams, cross-trained across all hospital functions, and are trusted to build genuine, lasting relationships with clients and patients. This position plays a key role in both outpatient and procedural workflows, contributing to a consistent, high standard of care throughout the patient visit.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of veterinary technician experience
  • Active and good-standing Certified Veterinary Technician in the state of Pennsylvania
  • Proficiency in client education and communication
  • Proficiency in patient assessment, nursing care, and monitoring
  • Proficiency in anesthetic induction, monitoring, and recovery
  • Proficiency in venipuncture and IVC placement
  • Proficiency in radiology positioning and safety protocols
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to high-quality patient care and continuous learning

Nice To Haves

  • Recent graduates pending VTNE testing and licensure, or out-of-state license-holders who are eligible to transfer a license, are also encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Building strong, lasting relationships with clients by leading clear, compassionate communication and patient care education during every visit.
  • Supporting efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows
  • Performing anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery
  • Performing dental radiology
  • Maintaining accurate, detailed medical records and treatment documentation
  • Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
  • Identifying patient concerns and supporting efficient case management across the hospital
  • Building strong client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service
