About The Position
Join our compassionate team at Animal Health Care Associates, LTD, a full-service veterinary clinic located on beautiful Martha’s Vineyard, just off the coast of Cape Cod, Massachusetts. While we primarily care for dogs and cats, our experienced team treats a variety of animals—from guinea pigs to horses. We’re dedicated to strengthening the bond between pets and their owners through exceptional, personalized care. Our services include wellness exams, vaccinations, surgeries, and alternative therapies such as acupuncture and holistic treatments. At Animal Health Care Associates, LTD, our mission is to promote the health and happiness of every pet through compassion, expertise, and education. Join us in making a difference in the lives of animals and the people who love them. Our hours of operation are: Monday – Friday: 8:30 am-12:00 pm & 2:00 pm-5:00 pm. We are closed on weekends except for boarding.
Requirements
- A Certified Veterinary Technician with an active license required
- Consistent punctuality and reliability in adherence to scheduled shifts
- Experience in anesthesia administration and surgical monitoring
- Excellent client communication and medical record management skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventative care, and hospital operations
- Expertise in safe and low-stress animal restraint techniques
- Proficiency in various sample collection methods, including blood, urine, fecal, and skin specimens
- Experience in radiographic positioning and image capture
- Commitment to professional ethics and continuous learning
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to animal-related hazards
- Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises.
- May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.
Nice To Haves
- 1+ year professional experience preferred but not required
- additional skills in dental radiography being a plus
