About The Position

This role involves providing hands-on emergency and critical care for pets. The clinic emphasizes a supportive team environment where staff members take care of each other and the pets. Requirements

  • Current CVT (or eligible for certification)
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive team-oriented attitude
  • Ability to arrive on time and ready to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills
  • Accurate medical recordkeeping and client history documentation
  • Proficiency in safe, low-stress restraint of patients
  • Competence in sample collection (blood, urine, fecal, skin) and lab processing
  • Proficiency in positioning and capturing quality radiographs
  • Experience in anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ year of clinical experience (ER or specialty preferred, but not required)
  • Familiarity with preventative care, surgical procedures, and hospital flow
  • Confidence in advanced skills (e.g., central lines, NG tubes, CRI calculations)- or a strong desire to learn!
  • Ability to accept and integrate constructive feedback to maintain efficiency and patient safety
  • A self-starter mindset with motivation to expand knowledge, pursue specialization, or step into leadership

Responsibilities

  • Triage and prioritize incoming patients
  • Place IV catheters, central lines, NG tubes, and nasal cannulas; perform blood draws and transfusions
  • Assist with radiographs, barium studies, and ultrasound-guided procedures
  • Provide intensive care for ICU patients, including chest tube maintenance and critical patient support
  • Bandage, splint, and assist in surgery
  • Prepare and interpret fecals, blood smears, and cytologies
  • Mentor and train less experienced staff
  • Partner with DVMs to provide patient care, comfort, and client education
