About The Position

Greenland Veterinary Hospital is seeking certified veterinary technicians who want to feel valued and make a difference in the lives of people and their pets. The practice is AAHA-accredited and sees dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and pocket pets, providing services from wellness appointments to surgical procedures, dentistry, radiology, ultrasounds, laser therapy, and in-house laboratory diagnostics.

Requirements

  • Certified veterinary technician
  • 1+ year experience preferred but not required
  • Open to new graduates from an AVMA accredited program that are waiting to take the VTNE
  • Top-notch technical skills
  • Ability to arrive on-time and ready to work
  • Computer skills a must (paperless practice)
  • Pays attention to detail
  • Fast learner
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Ability to communicate precisely
  • Knowledge in preventative care and hospital flow
  • Ability to restrain pets in a low-stress and safe manner
  • Proficient in sample collection to include blood samples, urine, fecal, and skin
  • Proficient in positioning and capturing radiographs
  • Proficient in anesthesia preparation, monitoring, and recovery
  • A self-starter with the desire to continue to advance one’s knowledge and skillset
  • Ability to receive in a professional manner constructive feedback to maintain hospital efficiency
  • Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises
  • May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases

  • Experience working in an AAHA accredited veterinary hospital
