About The Position

Kaukauna Veterinary Clinic is hiring a Certified Veterinary Technician for a full-time position. This role offers a predictable 4-day work week with rotating half-day Saturdays, and no nights or holidays. The clinic is a five-doctor small animal hospital in Kaukauna, Wisconsin, handling a variety of cases including dentistry, surgery, urgent care, and wellness visits. They are seeking a technician who wants to utilize their skills daily, continue learning, and be part of a supportive clinic culture. Requirements

  • Current Certified Veterinary Technician credential required
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Confidence in safe and effective patient handling and restraint
  • Strong technical skills, including venipuncture, IV catheter placement, laboratory procedures, and anesthesia monitoring
  • Knowledge of preventative care, vaccines, pharmacology, and medication administration
  • Experience assisting in surgery, dentistry, and patient nursing care
  • Proficiency with radiology, diagnostics, and basic imaging techniques
  • Ability to accurately triage patients and obtain thorough medical histories
  • Clear, compassionate communication with clients and team members
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate medical documentation
  • Collaborative, team-first mindset with a willingness to jump in where needed
  • Commitment to continued learning, growth, and professional development

Responsibilities

  • Triage patients and obtain thorough histories, vitals, and patient assessments
  • Assist veterinarians during exams, treatments, and procedures
  • Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care from intake through discharge
  • Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed
  • Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, fluid therapy, and sample collection
  • Obtain high-quality radiographs and assist with diagnostic imaging
  • Run in-house laboratory testing, including CBC/chemistry, urinalysis, cytology, and other diagnostics
  • Support surgical and dental procedures, including preparation, anesthesia monitoring, recovery, and patient discharge
  • Monitor anesthesia and patient vitals while maintaining accurate records
  • Provide patient monitoring and supportive care, including TPRs, pain scoring, and wound care
  • Educate clients on patient care, medications, discharge instructions, and preventative care
  • Maintain accurate medical records and patient charts
  • Keep treatment and exam areas clean, stocked, and organized
  • Collaborate with the team to maintain efficient workflow and a positive hospital culture
  • Participate in ongoing training and growth opportunities within the practice
