About The Position

Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist for an exciting Travel or Local job in Syracuse, NY. This role involves preparing operating rooms, assisting surgeons during procedures, maintaining a sterile field, and collaborating with the surgical team. The position requires adherence to strict sterile technique, infection control, and safety protocols. The technologist will support various surgical specialties and ensure compliance with hospital policies.

Requirements

• Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification.
• Minimum 3 years of recent Operating Room experience within the last 4 years.
• Experience in a Level I or Level II Trauma Center or equivalent teaching hospital.
• Strong scrub experience in Operating Room settings.
• Experience in Trauma, Orthopedics, General Surgery, ENT, Vascular, and GYN procedures.
• Ability to function independently with minimal orientation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

• Neurosurgery experience.
• Experience working in high-acuity trauma environments.
• Experience supporting multiple surgical specialties.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures by ensuring proper instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies are available.
• Scrub in and assist surgeons during procedures while maintaining a sterile field.
• Anticipate surgeon needs and provide instruments efficiently during surgical procedures.
• Handle surgical instruments, sponges, and supplies according to sterile technique standards.
• Assist in positioning and prepping patients for surgery.
• Maintain strict adherence to infection control and operating room safety protocols.
• Perform counts of instruments, sponges, and sharps with the circulating nurse.
• Assist with turnover and cleaning of OR suites between procedures.
• Support trauma, orthopedic, general surgery, ENT, vascular, GYN, and other surgical specialties.
• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, anesthesia providers, and surgical team members.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and OR standards of practice.
