About The Position

The Certified Surgical Technologist handles the instruments, supplies, and equipment needed during surgical procedures. The role requires understanding the procedure being performed, anticipating the surgeon’s needs, and applying the knowledge and skills necessary to support quality patient care while maintaining the sterile field. The position is based in the Operating Room and is scheduled for 40 hours per week on day shifts of 10 hours.

Requirements

• Current BLS certification.
• Surgical Technologist certification.
• Graduate of an approved Surgical Technologist program.
• Well organized and possess a high degree of manual dexterity.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, customer service, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Three years of experience in a hospital-based surgical service preferred.

Responsibilities

• Check the supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures, including scrubs, gowns, and gloves.
• Set up the sterile table with the instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications or solutions needed for surgery.
• Perform appropriate counts with the circulator before the operation and before the incision is closed.
• Anticipate the surgeon’s needs and maintain the sterile field during procedures.
