Certified Surgical Technologist, Operating Room, 40 Hours, Days
About The Position
The Certified Surgical Technologist handles the instruments, supplies, and equipment needed during surgical procedures. The technologist understands the procedure being performed, anticipates the surgeon’s needs, and uses the knowledge and skills necessary to support quality patient care during the operation while maintaining the sterile field. The role is a 40-hour-per-week day-shift position with 10-hour shifts in the Operating Room. The position is non-exempt and represented by SHARE Marlborough. A $3,000 sign-on bonus may be available, with eligibility details provided during the interview process.
Requirements
- BLS certification.
- Surgical Technologist certification.
- Graduate of an approved Surgical Technologist program.
- Well organized and possess a high degree of manual dexterity.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, customer service, and communication skills.
- Three years of experience in a hospital-based surgical service is preferred.
- An equivalent combination of the listed qualifications may be considered.

Responsibilities
- Check supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures, including scrubs, gowns, and gloves.
- Set up the sterile table with the instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications or solutions needed for surgery.
- Perform appropriate counts with the circulator before the operation and before the incision is closed.
- Handle instruments, supplies, and equipment during surgical procedures and anticipate the surgeon’s needs.
- Maintain vigilance in preserving the sterile field.
