About The Position
Franciscan Health Orthopedic Hospital Carmel is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to join their Operating Room team. This is a full-time or PRN position with day shifts available. The role involves preparing sterile environments, assisting surgeons during procedures, and managing surgical supplies and equipment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED Required
- NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Required
- 1 year Surgery required
- Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association within 90 Days Required
Responsibilities
- Arrange instrument trays
- Prepare sterile drapes and solutions
- Assist with prep of patients as needed
- Pass instruments to surgeons and surgical assistants
- May assist with sponge, needle, and other supply counts to track materials used in surgery
- May operate suction, diagnostic, and sterilizing equipment
- Package specimens to take for laboratory analysis
