About The Position
The Certified Surgical Technologist organizes, directs, and performs activities related to instrumentation, sterilization, and supplies that are utilized for patient care in the operating room.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program
- Basic Life Skills Certification (BLS); must obtain within the first 30 days of hire into the role
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery- Certified (TS-C) of Certified First Assistant (CFA)
- Knowledge of clinical standards and practices of surgical technology
- Ability to use hand quickly with precision
- Effective communicator; Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently
- Good listening skills to comprehend and quickly respond to the needs of the surgeon and surgical team
- Keen attention to detail
- High degree of responsiveness to changing schedules and priorities throughout the day
- Near visual acuity required to work with documentation, instrument gauges, dials, and equipment indicators
Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room for incoming surgeries
- Assisting surgeon in the operating room
- Inventory surgical instrumentation and supplies prior to an operation
- Recount surgical instruments and supplies at the end of an operation
- Sterilize equipment and stock up on necessary supplies
- All other assigned duties related to attending the operating room
