About The Position

Otsego Memorial Hospital is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) for a 13-week contract opportunity in beautiful Northern Michigan. This role involves a varied surgical caseload, including C-sections, within a collaborative surgical team environment. The position offers 40 hours per week, with a schedule of Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-5:00 PM. There is a call rotation of 1 weekend every 6 weeks and 1-2 weekdays. This is an opportunity to be part of a well-developed, internal traveler team, with the ability to work where others vacation, and offers flexible and seasonal assignments. As a member of the OR team, you will work with many specialty surgeons, their physician assistants and advanced practice registered nurses, all striving to provide excellent patient care in a dynamic environment. Responsibilities include preparing the operating room for upcoming surgeries, sterilizing equipment, stocking supplies, preparing patients for procedures, and handing instruments to surgeons upon request. You will also order and take inventory of supplies and maintain files and records of procedures.

Requirements

Graduation of an approved Surgical Technology Training Program or Licensed Practical Nurse with previous scrub experience.
BLS
Surgical Technologist certification (C.S.T. or N.C.C.T)

Responsibilities

Prepare patients for their procedures
Sterilize equipment and hand surgeons instruments upon request
