About The Position

Join the pediatric operating room team at NewYork-Presbyterian/Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital, providing support to physicians during a wide range of surgical procedures, including neurological, orthopedic, and ENT procedures. The role functions as a scrub person, circulation assistant, and member of the surgical team, assisting with the care, preparation, and maintenance of Operating Room supplies and equipment. The position is full time, working 11:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m., with rotating weekends and alternating weekend shifts. The role requires on-site presence, and employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP. Travel expenses are not reimbursed.

Requirements

Be certified as a Surgical Technologist by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting Certification (NBSTSA); new graduates must provide an exam date before starting employment and obtain certification within six months of hire.
Complete a six-month probationary period from the date of hire.
Complete a certified Surgical Technologist, Operating Room Technician, or comparable training program, or have experience as an O.R. Technician/Surgical Technologist in an acute care setting.
Have a high school diploma or GED.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience as an OR/Surgical Tech in an acute care setting.
