About The Position

We are hiring a Certified Surgical Technologist for the Spine Operating Room at Ascension Saint Thomas Midtown in Nashville, TN. This full-time, day shift position involves acting as the "right hand" to surgeons, anticipating their needs with elite focus and a proactive mindset to ensure the correct instrument or supply is ready before it is requested. The role also involves being a critical guardian of the patient's journey, ensuring safety, dignity, and clinical excellence through precision positioning and meticulous draping. Additionally, the technologist will maintain ownership of the sterile field with masterfully organized workflows and ensure 100% accuracy in instrument and sponge counts, serving as the final word in patient safety from incision to closure.

Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Per Tennessee Code (TCA) 68-57-101(a), non-certified applicants must have 18 months of surgical technologist experience in the 3 years preceding 5/21/07; or began the appropriate surgical technologist training prior to 5/21/07 and completed by 5/21/10.
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
