SURGICAL TECHNOLOGIST CERTIFIED
About The Position
The Certified Surgical Technologist supports perioperative care, maintains sterile technique, assists surgical teams, and ensures quality patient outcomes. The Certified Surgical Technologist Participates in the delivery of individualized peri-operative registered nursing care under the supervision and guidance of a licensed physician or a registered professional nurse. Collaborates with other members of the healthcare team to assure quality patient care. Basic knowledge of instrumentations. Establish/Maintain sterile field and assure team maintains sterile environment. Demonstrates correct and safe instrumentation passing. Participants in surgical counts (sponge, needle and instruments), per policy Adheres to Policy and Procedures, all regulatory standards and Patient Safety Goals. Participates in the nursing process for patients of all ages served. Participates in unit educational activities.
Requirements
- MS or PhD in a biomedical or health discipline or equivalent 12 years experience required
- 1-3 years' experience in grant writing, manuscript preparation, or technical writing required
- Advanced computer skills with respect to word processing, templates, table/figure creation, literature searches and document management is highly desired
- Healthcare or opioid addition research experience is also desired
- None required for Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration
- None required for Life Support
