About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join a high-volume Operating Room team specializing in complex surgical and transplant procedures. The ideal candidate will possess strong scrubbing skills, extensive operating room experience, and recent hands-on experience supporting liver transplant surgeries. This role requires the ability to work independently in a fast-paced surgical environment while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and sterile technique. This is a 13-week contract position with a day shift schedule of 3x12-hour shifts, guaranteeing 36 hours weekly. The position is located in Indianapolis, IN.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program required.
Current National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) Certification required.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Certification required.
Minimum two (2) years of recent Operating Room Surgical Technologist experience required.
Recent experience independently scrubbing liver recipient transplant procedures required.
Experience with large open abdominal surgical procedures required.
Advanced knowledge of surgical instrumentation and operating room procedures.
Strong transplant surgery experience and clinical judgment.
Ability to independently manage complex surgical cases.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-acuity operating room environment.
Strong organizational and critical-thinking abilities.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a high-volume surgical environment preferred.
Knowledge of robotic-assisted surgical procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare operating rooms, surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment for surgical procedures.
Establish and maintain sterile fields throughout surgical cases.
Function as the primary scrub technologist during complex surgical procedures.
Anticipate surgeon needs and efficiently pass instruments, supplies, and equipment.
Assist with surgical counts and ensure compliance with patient safety protocols.
Support transplant, general, and specialty surgical procedures.
Maintain aseptic technique and infection prevention standards at all times.
Ensure proper handling, preparation, and maintenance of surgical instrumentation.
Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, anesthesia providers, and perioperative staff to support efficient workflow.
Assist with room turnover and preparation for subsequent cases.
Participate in on-call coverage as required.
