About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join the surgical services team. The CST assists surgeons, anesthesiologists, and circulating nurses in the operating room during surgical procedures. The role involves preparing surgical suites, sterilizing and arranging instruments, maintaining strict aseptic technique, and handling surgical instrumentation to support patient safety and positive surgical outcomes.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of current clinical CST experience in an acute care operating room setting.
• Active National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) Certification.
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Expert knowledge of surgical instrumentation and aseptic technique.
• Strong anticipatory skills during live surgical cases, high attention to detail, and exceptional team communication.

Nice To Haves

• Scrub experience in Orthopedics, OB-GYN, and General Surgery.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating suites by sterilizing equipment, setting up sterile tables and assemblies, and verifying required instruments and supplies are available and operational.
• Assist with patient transfer and positioning on the operating table, drape patients securely, and maintain sterile boundaries during surgical cases.
• Pass sterile surgical instruments, sponges, and supplies to surgeons and surgical assistants; anticipate surgeon needs; and maintain accurate counts of sponges, needles, and instruments.
• Maintain aseptic technique, monitor sterile fields for potential contamination, and immediately correct breaks in sterility.
• Assist with dressing application, instrument decontamination and transport, operating room cleanup, and preparing suites for subsequent surgical cases.
